uno dos tres cuatro CINCO CINCO seis

It's day numero cinco of my 30 Day Photo Challenge and I'm supposed to post a picture of my most favoritest memory evah. Only one problem. How in the WORLD am I supposed to narrow down 21 years of my life into one single image? So in a way to get around that silly little rule, I am going to post a picture of the place my favorite memories have come from.

My college campus! Duh. It's almost impossible to pick one singular moment of my life that I could happily repeat forever but I know that I would happily redo the last few years here at school over and over again. I know that a lot of my classmates are over the tiny microcosm that is this school (we don't call it Dickinson High School for nothing) but I would probably happily do another year.
This is my favorite place on campus...Morgan Field. How collegiate does this look?
Perfect for laying out on nice days or snowball fights or just hanging out.

oh noooooo

AH! You guys! It's day 4 of my 30 Day Photo Challenge and I already messed up! I was supposed to post a picture of my night but I totally forgot to take a picture earlier so I'm just going to post pictures of things that relate to my night.

Tonight my sorority had a workshop with one of the professors on campus. It would have made such a nice picture if I could have gotten a shot of all 70 girls sitting on the floor of a classroom haha. My roommate and I were actually a little bit late to the meeting because although we thought that we would have enough time to grab dinner before, we totally did not. We had gone shopping earlier to try and find something to wear to all these cocktails this week but we were sadly disappointed. It kind of super sucks not having a mall nearby but I did manage to snag this fantastic maxi dress that I'm really super excited about!

driving miss daisy

"And I like large parties. They're so much more intimate. At small parties, there isn't any privacy."
- The Great Gatsby

it's sometimes sunny in carlisle

The beautiful weather we had on Friday was such a tease! Right now, it's like pouring snow outside and I could not be any less happy about it (okay, that's a lie. I would be way less happy if I had to dress up today for my sorority). But, hello silver lining! I got to wear my Bean boots for the first time today and I am in hearts with them already. They're actually really comfortable and functional. I can totally dig it. I have 3 cocktail attired functions this week and I am like freaking out about it right because I fully do not have outfits to wear for these things. Okay let's be honest. I probably have things to wear but I'm in the mode where you don't like anything in your closet and you think everything looks stupid so I'm kind of struggling right now. Any suggestions?

So today's day 3 of the 30 Day Photo Challenge and I'm supposed to post a picture of the cast of my favorite tv show. Normally this wouldn't be a problem but I'm like really torn right about what to put so I'll give you two pictures.

 It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia
A group of friends own a bar in Philadelphia and get into the most ridiculous situations imaginable. Most shows try to have nice happy endings where all the loose ends are tied up; this is not one of those shows. I mean, yeah, the endings are happy but the characters are usually in the exact same place at the end as they are at the beginning. It is literally one of the funniest shows in the entire universe. Like I bet aliens see this stuff in outer space and think that Earthlings are the greatest, most humorous people alive. Although if this is the only show that they're watching then they also think that we are terrible, selfish, self-centered individuals with absolutely no morals but hey....you win some, you lose some. This is the only show that I have always made a point to watch every week on TV and God forbid someone try to talk to me when this is on because I will kill them.

But since It's Always Sunny (as I fondly call it) is currently between seasons, its time slot on FX has been taken over by (drum roll please)....

Archer. I love Archer. I may even love Archer more than I love the gang on Sunny. This show is about a secret service agent and....yeah, I really don't even know how to describe it. You just need to watch it. So go do that. Now. Bye!

it's like mixing apples and oranges

I had such an iiiiinteresting weekend...I still can't decide if I enjoyed it or not though. I did the usual weekend activities but it just seemed a little off this time. Whateva. I have gotten, oh I don't know, about ZERO percent of my schoolwork done this weekend. I just couldn't be a productive member of society if I tried right now. So instead of using Saturday afternoon to study for my upcoming test, I spent way too much time doing my nails.

Friday was absolutely GORGEOUS. 65 degrees in the middle of February? Why, yes please! I fully took advantage of the situation by wearing a skirt without tights for the first time in a really long time and I know that mixing patterns is like a really sensitive subject with people but I absolutely love doing it. On Friday, I successfully incorporated stripes and polka dots in a particularly aesthetically pleasing way if I do say so myself (hint: I do). The key is really keeping a consistent color scheme going on.

And in keeping with my 30 Day Photo Challenge, here's my picture for day numero dos.
senior year of high school. don't judge.
Today's rule was to post a picture of you and the person that you've been closest with for the longest and this, my dear followers, is my best friend from high school. Given that I move around so much, I'm actually really terrible at keeping in touch with people and this is actually one of the few that I've ever actually succeeded with. We haven't actually gotten a chance to hang out together in years since he goes to school in Texas and I'm obviously in Maryland and Pennsylvania but we text each other pretty frequently so it's all good. Hi Bernard!

6: I haven't been to the beach in almost 4 years and it kills me inside
7: I'm not a big fan of Taylor Momsen but I kind of really enjoy her band The Pretty Reckless
8: I've always wanted to learn how to skateboard
9: I've never watched an episode of Friends or Seinfield or a bunch of other shows that everyone else ever has seen

love me, love me, say that you love me

"When love ends, weaklings cry, efficient ones instantly find another and the wise ones already have one in reserve."
Oscar Wilde

Happy Heart Day everyone! I hope you all have great days doing what you love with people you love. I'm getting dinner with some great friends and making Valentines to send through the school mail. My mom surprised me by sending me flowers this afternoon (so awkward walking into class late with those bad boys haha). Did anybody else have absolutely BEAUTIFUL weather this morning? The sun was shining, the birds were singing and I didn't even have to wear a real coat out. Totally made standing in line for Pretty Lights tickets a super enjoyable experience.

this is what i LOVE right now. can't wait to see them again in April!

it is better to have raged and lost than to have never raged at all. tfm.

It's just going to be one of those weeks...I can tell. One of those weeks where even though nothing is technically wrong, the whole thing just feels a little bit off. Is there a cure for those kinds of weeks yet because if so, holla at yo gurlllll. I've been trying to change the mood of the week byyyyy
  • painting my nails a super BRIGHT color

not my hands but pretty much the same polish color
  • making soup from scratch
also not my actual soup. you know this because i have prettier bowls
  • wearing super dressy outfits

on mondays, we wear black
  • wearing super NOT dressy outfits

please notice that both my dressy and not dressy outfits showcase serious black.

  • watching laser light shows at my friends' place (having dj friends is fun!)

finally...actually our laser shows
  • eating suuuuuper sour apples
  • and my favorite....spending way too much time on my new favorite website, Total Frat Move

Seriously though. I DIE for TFM (as insider's call it). Read it! Although warning do not read it if you are a sensitive, easily offended boring person (just kidding...you're not boring). This website has a very specific audience so keep that in mind! warning over I personally don't think the TSMs on the site are as funny as the TFMs but they're still definitely true....I def have some girls like that in my sorority. Sad but true.

At this rate, the week will be over before I know it!

don't get more than your hopes up

It's weird. I only started blogging like a little over a month ago and I already look forward so much to my next post. I hate that I don't get as much time now to write as I did when I was home but I'm glad that I'm finally busy again!

There are a few things that are a certainty in life at Dickinson College. You will eat in the caf on taco bar night, you will make fun of the folffers on Morgan Field, you will revel in the name DRINKinson, you will complain about the lack of cat-walk and on Mondays, you WILL be asked the ultimate question: "so how was your weekend?" I kind of hate that question. It's like when people say "Hey, how are you?" They don't really care but they just feel obligated to say it.

Recently friended someone on FaceBook and my wall announced to everyone that "Taylor and R are now friends after they both attended A's Birthday at Fast Eddie's." Como, say whaaaaat? HOW creepy is that? We were totally friends before we attended the same facebook event so why does facebook feel that need to claim that IT is the one to bring us together. Like, I love you facebook but sometimes you go too far.

furs-day

Yes I realize that this post should have been been done yesterday and I totally tried to but it was one of those days that was busy for absolutely no reason. You'll deal haha

My snow boot shave been shipppped! Hip hip hurray! I'm so excited for my new bean boots and I completely plan on wearing them even if it's like 90 degrees and sunny. You can quote me on that.

I had a really chill morning yesterday and started my day out right with the 2007 movie version of Hairspray (I DIE for Zac Efron and James Marsden). I've really been feeling musicals lately because of the class that I'm taking and watched Grease the night before that. The combination of all this theatricality and music and showmanship inspired me to have a fabulous day of my own (sadly sans any cheoregraphed dances) and resulted innnnn....
...FURSday! For some reason, my roommates were not a big of a fan of my oh so clever play on words...can't see why...

deep in the heart of texas

OH EM GEE! Two of my most favoritest things in the entire world are being combined into one twelve bottles of awesome-ness and amazing-ness and any other a(blank)-ness words that I am currently forgetting.

Texas + OPI nail polish = happy happy joy joy

Okay so it might be a litttttttle bit strange to be so excited for nail polish but I literally think nail polish might be my favorite beauty product ever (next to foundation but does that really count?). I own way too many bottles and get such a kick out of painting my fingers and toes in pretty, not typical colors. PLUS, I just love Texas. I went to Killeen High School (home of the fighting kangaroos! yes, my mascot was the kangaroo.) in Central Texas and I can honestly say that everything is bigger in Texas...especially the high school football...but I digress.

I'm really loving Suzi Loves Cowboys because who doesn't I've been looking for a nice chocolately brown color forever. What are your favorites?

slush puppies

I've recently decided to change my life motto to "Life's a Party" and today's party theme was apparently the 80s. I didn't actually plan to wear such a jazzercise inspired outfit but I don't hate it haha.
tank - forever21; cropped shirt - 5|48; leggings - INC; boots - minnetonka
Yes, I sometimes wear leggings as pants. Don't judge.

The East Coast is expecting a massive snow and ice storm tonight and tomorrow...again. Like how much more ice can we possible get before I get my snow boots?? Come on now weather gods!

I've been listening to Leighton Meester's "Summer Girl" from the Country Strong soundtrack allllll day. I'm in love. I've always been a big fan of her singing voice since she was on that Cobra Starship song last summer but I feel like this song really showcases her talent.

All week (okay for the past 2 days), I've been that girl in class. You know, the one who brings a personal box of tissues and blows her nose every 5.6 minutes. Yup. That was me. Sorry to everyone in my classes!
